1. Agreement and operator
These Terms of Service (Terms) govern access to codedreams.org, the CodeDreams builder, AI and learning tools, sandboxes, project storage, Explore, cloud leaderboards, publishing, subscriptions, and related services (the Service). “CodeDreams,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the operator of the Service.
By creating an account, using the Service, or authorizing a purchase, the account holder agrees to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and young builders
A direct account holder must be at least 13 and legally able to enter this agreement. If the account holder is under the age of majority where they live, a parent or legal guardian must review and approve these Terms, supervise use, and authorize every purchase.
Children under 13 do not receive child-owned accounts. A parent or legal guardian may create and own an account and allow a child under 13 to use it under direct supervision. The adult controls the credentials, projects, publishing, community settings, and billing and must complete the adult payment confirmation before starting or changing a paid subscription.
The account holder is responsible for deciding whether CodeDreams is suitable for each young builder and for teaching them not to disclose personal information or secrets. A school or organization must obtain any permissions required for its learners and may need a separate agreement with CodeDreams.
3. Accounts and security
Provide accurate registration information, use an email address you control, keep credentials confidential, and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access. Do not share an adult-owned account outside the supervised household or group for which it was created.
You are responsible for activity under the account unless it results from CodeDreams' failure to use reasonable security. We may require email confirmation, reauthentication, payment verification, or other proportionate checks to protect an account or complete a sensitive request. Accounts and subscriptions may not be sold or transferred.
4. The Service
CodeDreams provides tools to describe, generate, edit, preview, learn from, save, and publish software projects. Free accounts may keep draft projects and use the AI builder but cannot publish. Paid plans provide a stated number of published projects; unpublished drafts do not count toward that limit. Plan features and published-project limits are shown before purchase.
The Service is licensed for personal, family, educational, and other lawful creative use. It is not a secure repository for confidential records, credentials, regulated data, or irreplaceable files. Keep a separate copy of anything important.
5. Free and paid plans
Paid plans are recurring subscriptions. Prices, currency, taxes, billing interval, included published-project count, and the amount due are shown at checkout. Stripe processes payment information. The adult submitting payment confirms that they are the authorized account holder, parent, guardian, or cardholder.
A free account does not automatically convert to a paid plan. When an adult confirms paid checkout, billing begins for the selected plan and the subscription renews at each monthly or annual interval until canceled. By starting checkout, the adult authorizes Stripe and CodeDreams to charge the displayed amount and applicable taxes using the selected payment method.
You can cancel through the billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals and normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period; access continues until then unless law, fraud, a refund, or a safety termination requires otherwise. Failed or reversed payments may limit paid features. Refund rules are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6. Your content and licence
As between you and CodeDreams, you retain ownership of original prompts, files, text, images, and other content you provide (Your Content), subject to third-party rights and the uncertain copyright status of AI-generated material. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit and publish Your Content.
You grant CodeDreams a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, transmit, modify for technical compatibility, scan, display, and distribute Your Content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, moderate, support, and improve the Service, comply with law, and carry out your publishing choices. The public-display part of this licence ends when content is unpublished or deleted, except for reasonable technical wind-down, backups, legal retention, and copies outside our control.
Feedback may be used without restriction or payment, provided we do not identify you publicly without permission.
7. Publishing and community features
Publishing makes an app and selected metadata available to other people. Public apps may be copied, linked, indexed, or screenshotted. “Unlisted” only removes general discovery and does not make a link private. Review all text, code, images, and behaviour before publishing.
Display names, comments, votes, reports, and leaderboard nicknames and scores are community features. Use nicknames, not real identifying information. Leaderboard scores come from player browsers and cannot be treated as certified competition results, even though CodeDreams uses rate limits, origin checks, integrity rules, and owner controls to reduce manipulation.
8. Acceptable use
You must not use or help others use the Service to:
- exploit, sexualize, groom, harass, threaten, bully, impersonate, or expose personal information about a child or any other person;
- create or distribute illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, self-harm-promoting, violent, dangerous, deceptive, or privacy- invasive content;
- collect contact details, precise location, credentials, health information, payment information, or other sensitive data through a generated app without our prior written approval and all required consent;
- build unapproved chat, direct messaging, dating, gambling, payment, advertising, tracking, authentication, upload, or external database systems in a generated app;
- insert malware, steal secrets, probe other accounts, bypass authorization or safety controls, forge scores, automate spam, overload systems, or interfere with the Service;
- infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights; or
- misrepresent AI output as verified professional advice or use the Service for a high-risk decision affecting health, safety, legal rights, credit, employment, housing, or education access.
9. Safety and moderation
We may automatically scan prompts, public text, generated code, files, comments, reports, and score submissions. We may block, hold, limit, unpublish, suspend, preserve, or remove content or accounts when we reasonably believe this is necessary for child safety, security, integrity, legal compliance, or enforcement of these Terms.
Automated tools make mistakes. Account holders can report a problem or request review at support@codedreams.org. We are not required to pre-screen every item, but we will respond to credible safety and legal reports in a manner proportionate to risk.
10. AI output and generated code
AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, insecure, offensive, nonfunctional, or similar to existing material. It may contain licensing issues or fail to match a request. CodeDreams safety checks reduce but do not eliminate these risks.
The account holder must review and test a project before using or publishing it and is responsible for the final content and use. CodeDreams does not promise that AI output is unique, copyrightable, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party authentication, AI, database, hosting, sandbox, deployment, payment, and infrastructure providers. Their terms may govern their direct services. CodeDreams is not responsible for third-party content or services outside our reasonable control, but this does not limit obligations we cannot exclude by law.
12. CodeDreams intellectual property
CodeDreams and its licensors own the Service, brand, interfaces, documentation, safety systems, and underlying software, excluding Your Content. Subject to these Terms, we grant the account holder a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service during the applicable subscription or access period.
Do not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or use the Service to build a competing model or service except where applicable law expressly allows it. Report intellectual-property concerns to support with identification of the work, the challenged content, contact details, and a good-faith statement of authority.
13. Suspension and termination
The account holder may stop using the Service, cancel the subscription, or delete the account. We may restrict or suspend access immediately for a credible child-safety threat, fraud, security incident, illegal activity, payment failure, or serious or repeated breach. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to appeal.
On termination, the licence to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive, including ownership, payment accrued, legal retention, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms, remain in effect. Mandatory refund and data rights still apply.
14. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” CodeDreams disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not guarantee any educational result, project availability, publication uptime, AI accuracy, moderation outcome, or leaderboard integrity.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a statutory warranty, consumer guarantee, or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodeDreams will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, opportunity, goodwill, or data, arising from the Service.
CodeDreams' total aggregate liability arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount the account holder paid to CodeDreams during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and CAD $100. This limit does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or liability that cannot be limited by law.
16. Adult account-holder responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, an adult account holder will defend and indemnify CodeDreams from a third-party claim caused by the adult's unlawful content, knowing infringement, material violation of these Terms, or unauthorized commercial use. This does not apply to a minor, to CodeDreams' own misconduct, or to the extent a claim was caused by CodeDreams.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The parties will first try in good faith to resolve a dispute through support for 30 days. Subject to mandatory consumer law, proceedings may be brought in the courts located in Ontario.
If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory rights or the ability to bring a claim in another forum where local law requires it. Nothing prevents either party from seeking urgent relief for safety, security, confidentiality, or intellectual-property harm.
18. General terms and contact
These Terms and the policies linked above are the agreement about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest remains effective. A waiver must be explicit and does not waive a later breach. You may not assign the agreement without consent; CodeDreams may assign it as part of a merger, reorganization, financing, or sale of the Service.
We may update these Terms prospectively. Material changes will receive reasonable notice, and renewed agreement will be requested where law requires it. Continued use after the effective date accepts the update only to the extent permitted by law.
Questions, notices, appeals, and safety concerns can be sent to support@codedreams.org. Legal operator and mailing details are available from support for formal notices.
